Welcome to The Lakendra Edit. These Terms of Service govern your use of our website and the purchase of digital products, custom design services, and printed products offered through The Lakendra Edit.
By accessing this website, placing an order, purchasing a product, or booking a service, you agree to these Terms of Service.
1. Products & Services
The Lakendra Edit offers a variety of products and services, including but not limited to:
- Digital templates and designs
- Semi-custom and custom design services
- Wedding stationery and other event stationery
- Wedding magazines and programs
- Printed stationery and other physical products
- Other creative and design-related products and services
Product descriptions, pricing, availability, and offerings may be updated or changed at any time without notice.
2. Digital Products
Unless otherwise stated, digital products are provided for personal use only.
When you purchase a digital product from The Lakendra Edit, you are purchasing a limited, non-transferable license to use the product. You are not purchasing ownership of the underlying design, artwork, template, or intellectual property.
Digital products may not be:
- Resold
- Redistributed
- Shared with others
- Copied or reproduced for commercial resale
- Modified and sold as a new product
- Used to create competing products
- Claimed as your own original work
- Uploaded, shared, or distributed to third-party websites or marketplaces
- Transferred or sublicensed to another individual or business
Unauthorized reproduction, distribution, or resale of any digital product is strictly prohibited.
Due to the immediate and permanent access provided to digital products, all digital product sales are final and non-refundable, except where otherwise required by applicable law.
3. Custom & Semi-Custom Design Services
Custom and semi-custom design services are created specifically for each client based on the information, content, preferences, and materials provided.
Clients are responsible for providing accurate and complete information, including but not limited to:
- Names
- Dates and times
- Locations and addresses
- Event details
- Requested wording and copy
- Photographs
- Other content needed for the design
The Lakendra Edit is not responsible for errors resulting from incorrect, incomplete, or outdated information provided by the client.
Deposits & Payments
For eligible custom design services, a 50% non-refundable deposit may be required to secure your project and begin the design process. The remaining balance must be paid according to the terms outlined in your individual contract, invoice, proposal, or agreement.
Deposits compensate for time reserved, project preparation, creative direction, and work completed or scheduled for the project.
Custom projects may not begin until the required deposit or payment has been received.
Contracts
Clients booking custom design services may be required to sign a separate contract or service agreement. In the event that the terms of a signed contract differ from these general Terms of Service, the terms of the signed agreement will govern that specific project where applicable.
4. Proofing & Final Approval
Clients are responsible for carefully reviewing all proofs before providing final approval.
It is the client’s responsibility to verify:
- Spelling
- Grammar
- Names
- Dates
- Times
- Addresses
- Phone numbers
- Website links
- Event details
- Other written or visual information
Once final approval has been provided, The Lakendra Edit is not responsible for errors that were present in the approved proof.
Any corrections or changes requested after final approval may require additional fees and may affect the project timeline.
5. Revisions & Additional Changes
The number of revisions included with a custom or semi-custom project will be outlined in the applicable service description, proposal, invoice, or contract.
Requests that fall outside the original project scope, including significant design changes, additional pages, additional items, or new concepts requested after work has begun, may be subject to additional fees.
Additional work will not be completed until applicable fees have been approved or paid.
6. Printing & Physical Products
The Lakendra Edit may offer printed products directly or coordinate printing through third-party professional print providers.
Because printed products are produced specifically for each order, all order details and proofs must be reviewed carefully before final approval.
Once a design has been approved and submitted for printing, changes or cancellations may not be possible.
The Lakendra Edit is not responsible for errors that were present in a proof approved by the client.
Printing Variations
Clients acknowledge that slight variations may occur during the printing process. This may include variations in:
- Color
- Paper texture
- Paper thickness
- Cutting and trimming
- Alignment
- Foil or specialty finishes
- Other production characteristics
Colors may also appear differently depending on screens, monitors, devices, lighting, paper, and printing processes. The Lakendra Edit cannot guarantee that printed colors will appear exactly as they appear on a digital screen.
7. Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Printed Orders
If a printed order arrives damaged, contains a production defect, or does not match the approved order specifications, the client must contact The Lakendra Edit within [insert number] days of delivery and provide photographs and relevant details regarding the issue.
Each situation will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Depending on the circumstances, an eligible issue may result in a reprint, replacement, store credit, or another appropriate resolution.
Issues caused by client-approved errors, incorrect information supplied by the client, changes requested after production, or normal printing variations may not qualify for a refund or replacement.
8. Shipping & Delivery
Any production and shipping timelines provided by The Lakendra Edit are estimates unless otherwise specifically guaranteed in writing.
The Lakendra Edit is not responsible for delays caused by shipping carriers, weather, supply chain disruptions, customs, incorrect shipping information provided by the customer, or other circumstances outside of our reasonable control.
Once an order has been transferred to the shipping carrier, responsibility for carrier-related delays or transit issues may be subject to the carrier’s policies and procedures.
Customers are responsible for providing an accurate shipping address at checkout or before an order is submitted for production.
9. Cancellations
Cancellation requests for custom design services and printed products are subject to the terms outlined in the applicable contract, invoice, proposal, or Refunds & Cancellation Policy.
Because custom work requires reserved time and creative labor, deposits are non-refundable.
Once a printed order has been approved and submitted for production, cancellation may not be possible.
10. Intellectual Property
All designs, templates, artwork, graphics, branding elements, website content, text, photographs, and other creative materials created by or belonging to The Lakendra Edit are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
Unless otherwise agreed to in writing, The Lakendra Edit retains ownership of all original design concepts, drafts, unused concepts, templates, and underlying creative assets.
Clients may receive the final agreed-upon deliverables for their intended personal or agreed-upon business use. However, clients may not reproduce, resell, distribute, sublicense, claim ownership of, or commercially exploit The Lakendra Edit’s designs beyond the rights specifically granted with their purchase or service agreement.
Purchasing a product or service from The Lakendra Edit does not transfer copyright or ownership of the underlying design unless expressly stated in writing.
11. No Resale or Redistribution
Products, designs, templates, files, and other materials purchased from or created by The Lakendra Edit may not be resold, redistributed, shared, sublicensed, or transferred to another person or business without prior written permission.
You may not purchase a product from The Lakendra Edit and then sell, offer, distribute, or represent that product or a substantially similar version as your own.
Commercial resale or redistribution of any product, design, template, or digital file is strictly prohibited unless The Lakendra Edit has provided express written authorization.
12. Client-Provided Content
Clients are responsible for ensuring that they have the necessary rights, permissions, and licenses to use any photographs, logos, text, artwork, or other materials submitted to The Lakendra Edit.
By providing content for a project, the client represents that they have permission to use that content.
The Lakendra Edit is not responsible for copyright, trademark, privacy, or other legal issues arising from materials supplied by the client.
13. Portfolio & Promotional Use
Unless otherwise agreed to in writing, The Lakendra Edit reserves the right to display completed or in-progress work, including custom designs and printed products, in its portfolio, website, social media, marketing materials, and other promotional content.
Private or sensitive information may be omitted or limited at the discretion of The Lakendra Edit or upon written agreement with the client.
14. Right to Refuse Service
The Lakendra Edit reserves the right to refuse, cancel, or discontinue an order or service at its discretion, including in cases involving abusive behavior, harassment, fraudulent activity, inappropriate requests, copyright concerns, or other circumstances that make it unreasonable or inappropriate to continue the business relationship.
15. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Lakendra Edit shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from the use of our products or services.
The Lakendra Edit’s total liability for any claim related to a product or service shall not exceed the amount paid by the customer for the specific product or service giving rise to the claim, except where otherwise required by applicable law.
16. Changes to These Terms
The Lakendra Edit reserves the right to update or modify these Terms of Service at any time. Changes will become effective upon posting to this website unless otherwise stated.
Your continued use of the website or purchase of products and services after changes have been posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
